Welcome
Collaboratively, Wake County Public School System educators will explore the ITES (Information and Technology Essential Standards), looking specifically at suggestions for instructional technology tools, learning models, digital resources, and differentiation strategies. This first hour is designed for an instructional setting with robust Internet connectivity as participants will need to access streaming video, audio and download resources as needed.

Upon completion of this module, participants will
- understand today's Information and Technology environment
- understand the learning needs of today's students
- understand the need to integrate ITES vertically, while increasing levels of rigor and sophistication
- observe best practices exemplars for integrating information resources and technology tools in instruction
- recognize the origin of the ITES and clearly connect how the ITES have evolved to best support learning and teaching in the 21st Century in all content areas
- initiate a school-based strategy for collaborating to implement ITES in 2011-2012
